Hi,

I am thinking of buying a SSD for my rig :) only the small 30gb kingston as a new gadget/toy/accessory and obviously for the speed.

But i am just wondering would it be better to use for my Operating system win 7 x64 which is roughly 20gb + updates (and install all applications on HDD) or Install my Commonly played games and leave my OS on the HDD?

Am thinking OS as it would improve speeds alround and get a greater benafit from it yes?

cheers!

At the minute i have on a 40gb drive: Starcraft2 Dow2 TF2 and C&C4.
But al only really want Starcraft2 Dow2 and TF2 which is about 26gb in total :P
still OS sounds better.

OS first, startup apps second, commonly used apps third. It's then up to you how you prioritise the remaining space - it's nice to put games with (typically) long load times on there, but you don't impact much else in gaming terms.

Yea, OS first, then any remaining space can be used on a most comonly used/wished was faster basis...

+1
I have a OCZ vertex 30gb ssd and have windows 7 x64 installed and then basic programs such as nod32, winrar, deamon tools and office 2010 and that all takes up 22gb

I also turned off indexing and hibination functions that use an extract 6gb. Also I did move the page file which i have set at 4gb to my second hhd but i had some issues doing this so wouldn't recommend this unless you know what your doing.

The only problem I have now is it takes longer for my pc to POST than to load windows 7 to the logon screen :p
