Hi all,

I've just started using an SSD and it uses Samsung Magician software, this starts on windows login and instantly pops up asking if I want to allow this software to make changes.

Is there anyway, other than uninstalling I can get this to stop and just always give it the ok to make changes?

hi AHarvey

it's a easy fix if you know it.

Just right click the Samsung magician desktop icon then click properties then go to compatibility tab then look for run as administrator tick that then apply.
the you are done then reboot and the pop up will be gone.
:D

Won't make any difference.

Also, there is no need for Magician to run on Windows start-up, so just disable it. One less thing running in the background too then!

This.

You could just open msconfig from cmd ( windows key and r) and then untick the software from the startup programs.

KIA.
it will work i have done it many times before and retested on my computer this morning. :)

or you can do it this way for the OP.

1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
2. Select the Start-Up tab
3. Right click on Samsung Magician Application
4. Click Properties
5. Click Compatibility Tab
6. Check the box under "Privilege level" next to "Run this program as an administrator"
7. Click Apply on bottom right of window

Done.

Running as admin did actually stop it :)

But I will look at stopping it from launching at start up. Thanks :)

On a side note, rapid technology...it appears to double the speeds of the drive to over 1000mb/s, I feel that isn't a great thing though as if it was stable at that speed then it would be always run at that speed and not 500mb/s.

And what a pain moving OS from one HDD to another, got to be an easier way than reinstalling everything :(

Just disable it at startup and run it when ya want to check for updates or do whatever honest. Its only really needed for the preruns and maybe OP and stuff then its just update checks thats it.

:Edit:

Still the best buy in SSD for me
