Ok a few questions.
If I get a 30GB SSD would that be enough for Win7 Ultimate 64bit including a few programs e.g. Chrome, Antivirus? BF3?

Also this is my mobo Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2. Will this be ok for a SSD (SATA wise)

I bought a 30gb SSD and outgrew it very quickly. I would advise a 60gb myself.

It can be done on a 30gb but by the time windows is on, office, chrome, a few games its pretty much full. It can also cause a problem when burning stuff, but you can workaround it if you google and stuff.

Save up and get a 60gb.

You'll fill up whatever you get.

Personally I run a 120gb but tend to keep about 60Gb free with a few games in my steam file. The rest of my steam games are on a mechanical hard drive and hotlink them...

30gb has been fine for me with Win7 home premium. Only other things on there are drivers, MSE & Firefox. About 6gb spare for future updates / drivers.

Ok 60GB it is, but what about my SATA port being SATA2 3gbps

Sata 2 doesn't really matter, only limits the top data transfer speed. In real life usage this won't impact on the responsiveness and general OS speed. Definitely go for 60GB as a bare minimum though. Even my 128GB is filling up quick.
