SSD recommendations for upgrading MSI GX660R

Hello

Bought my MSI GX660R from ocuk a good 4 years ago. It's still in use and going strong. I will be lending it to my little brother for his masters degree.

I wanted to upgrade the harddrives to at least an SSD for the OS to make boot up significantly quicker and maybe for secondary storage also (SSD's are relatively cheap now and they don't have to be huge, 250-500gbish should be fine).

Also with windows 10 coming out I though it would be nice to put the SSD's in to have a fresh OS install so the laptop should be working at its best.

Just wondering what peoples recommendations were on which SSD to get? Preferably one OCUK sell as I have always ordered from them and like the customer service.

It's limited to sata II speeds but sata III droves work. I'd go with the 850 evo.

Samsung 830's worked great in my gx660r when I had one.

Samsung 850 EVO or a Crucial BX100.

Just posting a little update to say Thank you for the recommendations, I went for a 250gb 850 Evo for primary and 750gb normal HDD for secondary. Items arrived super fast from OCUK as per usual, hard drive swap and raid change went smoothly and installed windows without issue.

Laptop now boots up in around 20 seconds which is a huge improvement
