Heya guys well I'm looking for an ssd as a boot drive not primarily for speed reasons but for reliability mainly, had 2 drives die on me :( any recommendations for a good bootdrive with a good warranty, not looking to spend more than 100 really :)

You want an SSD of which none have been tested over a period of years yet, and you want it for relaibility?

I'd think you might be better off looking for backup solutions.

Anyway PCf magazines recent revied of SSDs placed the OCZ Intel and Kingston offerigns that were less than 100 all around 70% or so in score. These were 30 32 and 40Gb drives, the intel X25-V 40Gb scoring highest at 73% and for £93.

None really stand out in that price range from their review, people may have real life experience of other drives.

Personally, I think the crucial is just right for home usage as a system drive. The performance is adequate, the price is right. You won't see that much difference in real world usage with a Sandforce / Indillix / Intel drive. If you're skint, it's a good choice, compared to the sub £100 drives, and decent performance, compared to the £150 drives.

I have built 5 rigs with the Intel 80Gb X25-M at approx. £180 inc vat.
They have been fantastic and consistently rate amonsgt the best in their price bracket.
You may not be so interested in speed (god knows why though as its your boots os), although that's where SSD's shine. Mine boots into windwos 7 in just under 15 secs. All apps are so much faster.
To me its the single biggest upgrade a computer can have that makes a difference to performance.

As said, reliability? Pretty much an unknown really due to its relative infancy in desktop computing.
