SSD symptoms - dead?

Turned on PC today, boot drive SSD not recognised. Swapped drives and cables around a few times, but still not picked up. Other temporary drive using SATA port 1 and cable works fine.

So, anything else to try or is it dead?

Can you slave the drive and still retrieve your data off it?
