SSD - which cables?

Hi all,

Quick query - I'm looking at buying an SSD for my machine, the 850 EVO listed here: Samsung 850 EVO

From what I've read it doesn't come with any cables. It seems I will need a Sata to go from the SSD to the mother board and some sort of power cable from the SSD to the PSU?

I'm not too clued up but I think this should work for the sata cable?: sata 3.0

I'm not really sure about the second one though. Can anyone check/confirm if the one I've linked is correct and link the power cable I'd need? Much appreciated

Normally SATA cables come with motherboards and PSU have cables with SATA connectors on them.

BUt if you have no SATA cables to hook upto the board, then that cable in that link is right.

Unless its an old PSU which doesnt have SATA power connectors. Can just use a molex to sata cable.

Does your power supply have any leads running from it like this:

If so, that's your SATA power connector. Unless your PSU is very old you should have at least 2-4 of these. If you don't you can get adapters that convert the old molex style power connector to SATA.
