Can i just put a SSD in my pc and reinstall windows on it ?

i have ''black screen of death'' and i was gona get a SSD anyways so could i buy a SSD install windows on it then once in on windows i could use the harddrive with black screen of death on it ?

or wont that work ?

will it still have to be reformated ?

you will have to remove windows from your hard drive either before or after you install the ssd.
If you have windows partitioned on the hdd, you should be able to install windows on the ssd and thenhook up your hdd and then delete the partition. this is what i did recently.

just remember to disconnect your hdd's when installing the ssd for the first time.

its not partitioned wil i lose data ?

i cant get into pc atm because i just get black screen it wont load up

:)depends what you want to keep.
if you want to keep music/videos/games then you could make a partition and put them onto that drive. then install windows onto your ssd, then delete the partition with windows on it.
Otherwise you will lose all windows data.

i think i'm right

Once you've installed Windows onto your SSD, then reconnect your existing HDD.
It will appear as a secondary drive.

Providing your drive hasn't physically failed, you should be able to access your old documents etc. Good luck :)

ok thanks realy want to play rift it starts in 2 hours

and it wont be a probblem that both HD have windows 7 installed ?

I would say 64GB is a minimum - once you install windows and a few applications you'll regret having only a 32GB drive.
