Hi, I'm thinking of putting 4 x crucial C300 in raid0 for excellent read and write speeds.
What sort of speeds will I reach doing this?
Are there any problems putting SSD's in raid?
:)

You would be better off doing 2 X C300 in raid0, a friend as 4 OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB's he tested it with 4 in raid0 and 2 in raid0 and the difference it nothing noticeable because your held back by your motherboard and other parts. i dont know you setup so i dont know when it will hit max speed but 2 or 3 ssd's in raid 0 would be about it for most gaming rigs after that you puting money in the bin just get

2 x f3 1tb in raid 0 + 2 X C300 in raid 0 and your set

There's the same problems there are with hard drives. I.e., keep a backup of any data you don't want to lose, and occasionally your motherboard will drop the ball and the array will fail.

I would be inclined to buy one drive, and then consider whether the greater performance is worth it. Certainly it would be better to buy two of them for raid 0 and try it for a while than to start off with four.

I bought a single vertex planning on raid 0 later, and discovered that one was quick enough that my storage was no longer a bottleneck.
