Some software won't install because my CPU doesn't support the SSE2 instruction set.

Is there such a thing as a SSE2 AMD cpu I can to replace my current one? Or would I have to buy a new mobo aswell? I have an Athlon XP-M on an Abit NF7-V2.0 mobo.

Thanks,

Noob

sorry people but he said 'Is there such a thing as a SSE2 AMD cpu I can to replace my current one?' so i think hes looking to AMD rather than intel

Very helpful, thanks.

So will an Athlon 64 fit in my Abit NF7? I think it's socket A. Athlon's socket A, isn't it?

Afraid not the 64's are socket 939 or 754 so a new board will be needed aswell
