Ive noticed that on my Allendale, there is no SSE4 support, whereas on Conroes (E6600 upwards) there is according to CPU-Z.

I originally thought that Allendales are exactly the same as the full-fat Conroes except for the halved cache... seems as though thats not strictly true! What is SSE4 anyways, and does it improve performance by much?

according to cpu-z the e6600 in our office doesnt have SSE4 (i dont think this even exists at the moment) but it does have SSE2 SSE3 and SSSE3 (note: 3 S's) according to cpu-z. I have no idea what this is, maybe a glitch, maybe something else, cant be bothered to read cpu-z forums to find out tbh. I'd go and have a quick flick through their forums if you want a definitive answer though :)
