ssf4 ae bgm problem

Hi all
I was playing ssf4 ae round my mates house at the weekend and we thought we would go on the net to find out how to enable each characters own bgm.

After doing everything we needed to do (title and icon) we got the option to enable the character bgm.

However after turning the option on no matter what mode/stage or what character it still plays the standard stage bgm.

As far as i know his game is up to date with patches.

Any ideas?

Ok tried the above on my 360 version too and still didnt get each characters theme tune.

Only thing i can think of is that they are in online mode.

Can anyone help?
