SSL Certs and SEO - Two Stores Same Server

Aloha all,

Just wondering, I am setting up two stores for an international seller, lets say UK and US.. so the URLs will probably be

https://store.####.com/uk
https://store.####.com/us

Now do I need to buy separate SSL's for each? Or will one work? I'm a bit confused by it. I chose those URL's mainly because Apple do it that way and I assume it has SEO benefits, but would it be better to go for:

https://www.####.com/uk-store
https://www.####.com/us-store

Any help is much appreciated.

An SSL certificate is generally limited to a single domain name i.e. store.####.com, so as long as you don't change the domain name you should only need one. You can get special SSL certificates that will allow all sub-domains but they can get expensive.

you will be covered by one ssl.

so decide if you are going to use www or not unless u buy wildcard ssl which will cover www.domain.com and domain.com.

If you go for a subdomain solution, http://us.domain.com and http://uk.domain.com you will need 2.

Cool, so store.####.com/uk and store.####.com/us will use the same SSL cert. Now all I need to find out is from godaddy and whether their "free" SSL can be applied to our domain.

Yup - the one SSL will do.

If you want a cheap Positive SSL go buy an info domain from Namecheap for $3 and they give you a free SSL cert that you can use where you want.
