Developing a website.

users submit an email address to sign up to a mailing list.

SSL surely hardly worth it? No other details are entered.

What you guys think?

depends whose email address it is. If you're working for big pharma, those guys are VERY touchy about who gets hold of their email addresses. Don't suggest it to them, but if they've suggested it to you and can justify it, then do it. quite excessive though

That's what I thought.

At the end of the day, I'll advise it's excessive. However if they want to pay me for it, it's their money! :D

ps. It's for a council website.
