Looking on the DWP website it says to qualify for SSP you need to be earning at least £112 a week before tax. My normal contracted wage for 16 hours is £109 a week.So id miss out on SSP by £3.

However, i dont think ive ever done my contact hours since i started at the firm, usually doing between 20 and 30. So if i had to claim SSP would they work it out off my contracted hours or would they look at the hours ive actually worked in the previous weeks/months?

What you're actually paid - just like SMP.

Details here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/statutory-sick-pay-manually-calculate-your-employees-payments

Average weekly earnings are calculated using the "relevant period", as follows:
The relevant period

The end of the relevant period is the last normal payday before the first complete day of sickness.

The start of the relevant period is the day after the last normal payday falling not less than 8 weeks before the end of the relevant period.

Example for an employee who is weekly paid where the first full day of sickness is 21 January 2015.

The relevant period is 22 November 2014 to 16 January 2015.

Add up all the earnings paid during the relevant period and divide by 8 (the number of weeks in the relevant period). Don’t round the figure up or down to whole pence.
So based on your actual earnings.

Looking at the site linked to it says they go back 8 weeks from your last paydate. I get paid monthly.

My last paydate was 22 December ( should've been 31st, they paid early for Christmas ) , so I take it they would look at my earnings from the 23rd October to 22nd December? The 23rd oct is partway thru a week so would they look at the entire week ( starting 19th )? As that week I worked Monday tues and Wednesday and was off rest of the week, so if they only go from 23rd it would be 0 for that week.

Hours worked ( and paid for ) for the weeks are :

W/C 19/10 - 19hrs ( or 0 if they count from 23rd )
W/C 26/10 - 5 + 11 holiday paid hours so 16 in total
W/C 2/11 - 30hrs
W/C 9/11 - 13 hrs
W/C 19/11 - 21.5 hrs
W/C 23/11 - 15.5 hrs
W/C 30/11 - 27.5 hrs
W/C 7/12 - 20hrs
W/C 14/12 - 16 hrs
W/C 21/12 - 0 was signed off sick for a week due to 170/110 blood pressure

W/C 28/12 this week - 31 hrs although this wont count.

So I make that 10 weeks with a total of 178.5 hours divided by 10 weeks ( assuming they count the WC 21/12 where I was sick. ) I get 6.85 an hour so that's an average of 122.27

If they count week 1 as 0 then that's 159.5 hours which gives an average of 109 so I'm guessing then I wont qualify.

Last 3 pay amounts were :

30 Oct - 662.43
30 Nov - 767.83
22 Dec - 578.83
