SSX deadly descents

SSX 3 was awesome - however I've been pretty disappointed on other games in the series - Hopefully this is a return to form :)

Looks like they're going for 3 types of gameplay: Tricks, survival and race. Tricks and Race are obviously same as before but survival sounds like you vs the mountain with weather effects and such. They dabbled with that in SSX3 with a few avalanches but more is good :)

Sounds like they're going for a **** load of tracks as well :eek:

The original was the game that made my ps2 from some weird new console to THE BEST THING EVER!

Tricky was also quality (finished it as about half the characters) but not really played any since, would love to see a new version
 
I did everything on SSX3. Literally everything, and still kept on playing :D

Hope they don't make it too serious. But I will be buying it anyway! Also hope DJ Atomica is back.
 
I loved the originals and Tricky... I've got to say, from watching the interview this looks amazing - it looks like it'll combine all the fun of SSX, with the awesome racing of 1080 Snowboarding, and if they get the 'Survive It' gameplay right that could be a brilliant addition. 300 tracks? Yes please!

And I still hope we will be able to dress them up in animal suits and t-shirts. Craziness is what made it.

Hmm. From the original trailer it all looked a bit too serious. The more recent vids look slightly better but it still seems too "realistic". Why do all the tracks have to be in the mountains?
 
Thread needs to be renamed, the game is just called SSX now.

Also needs a thread revival as I just found out there is a January release date being thrown around!

Cannot wait for this! Absolutely loved the SSX games on the PS2! Stuff like this is why I used to own consoles!

Hmm, should I pre order...
 
Needs a new thread with stars and everything. I'm on my phone or I would do it.

All we need now is a proper old school Tony Hawks game and I will be 15 again!
 
Do I pre order this and hope I forget about it and its a nice surprise when it turns up, or do I avoid any online rants about late pre orders and just stroll into a shop and pick it up on release day....?
 
Never spotted this the first time round, which platforms is it going to be on?

SSX Tricky was my fave thing about the PS2, this coming out would make me think about buying a console again :)

EDIT: Just seen, PS3 and X360.

I think I've played just about every SSX game, the last version for the wii was dog awful, but I've loved the rest.


Hopefully this will be a return to form, the franchise is one of my all time favourites :)
