St Patricks Day Aurora [I cheated & went to Iceland]

Well not really cheated, I was in Iceland already......

I'd been in Iceland for 6 nights already with only one clear night with no aurora then all the alerts went off....

The night was clear...

Then it appeared, it was that bright we could already see it as the sun set.

I've probably got 50 shots but for some reason I like this one the best (at least just now)

I'd recommend an Iceland trip, it's stunning even without a showing of the lights (but they really are an icing on the cake

)

They had an EP9 Rated Aurora storm...the biggest ever recorded as far as I'm aware.

I'd have given all genitalia to be there.

A few more conventional shots. The big problem we had was that it was kicking off in all directions, you got dizzy spinning around & often were to busy going "WOW" to hit the shutter.

And yes, definitely worth a Genitalia or two

The greens were like neon to the naked eye, the rest of the colours were weaker but showed clearly with 1s upwards shutter speeds, I've got shots of the greens across the sky with my phone
