Ive never really understood why Paddy's day seems to be celebrated here more than St. George's Day. It would be nice to see a bit more patriotism come April 23rd - assuming it doesnt offend anyone....

Let's face it - the Brits with their collective stiff upper lip tend not to know how to party (binge drink fuelled yobbery aside), so it's no surprise others manage a better job of it. Just go to a St. Patrick's parade or two and you'll see what I mean (Toronto or New York included).

Yep, Stoke-on-Trent City Council (my old employers, sadly) were one of the "Politically Correct" Councils that wasted tax-payers money on their barmy "Let's rename everything because there's bound to be someone offended by something" campaign.
