Is the specs for the exact card (is my old one)

States there 300w minimum too but I would've thought this aimed at those who have £10 PSU's in there machines like the majority of PC users, I'd of imagined the Shuttle PSU should handle it fine!

It does however sound power related, are you 100% sure that the card is sat in slot properly? I had a friend break a BFG 7600GT as it wasn't sat in the slot completely flush, the metal bracket at the end of the card wasn't fully in so card was slightly tilted.

Yeh its all in spot on i have removed re fitted double checked all that side of things
There is also another 4 pin plug which you can connect on the shuttle motherboard which will supply more power to the card also used that but still the same
Im thinkin that the power supply would be fine on the shuttle
I know its onl a 240w but i thought these were pretty decent ones??

Try a different 4 pin, if there are lots of devices on the same bit of wire it can affect it, so if there is another with less try that :)

Edit: what you can also try is disconnect power to hard drive and dvd drive and then try booting.

Sorry the 4 pin socket is on the motherboard.
You use a connector wire to go from 4 pin molex to suit the connector on the mobo

Yeh think i will try discconecting them and see what happens lol.

Well for some unkown reason the system has fired up today with the card installed
lol wouldnt mind but i havent done anythine different from yesterday sta=range lol

CHeers for the help guys

Whats the best drivers to get for Nvidia cards and also the best way to remove the ati drviers??

Thanks

um the best nvidia drivers to get - the newest ones :D
As for removing the ATI, the removal link under add/remove programs should do the job, but if not then something like Ashampoo uninstaller 3.0 should definately do the job.

Boulderdash !

i use 94.24 nvidia drivers with a 7800gt. newest drivers wouldnt boot past splash screen in xp for me.

@OP seems like it was or is a psu issue. have you done any tests

No i have now removed it from the system
It was hit or miss whether it booted and it seemed to slow the complete system down
I can only put it down to the Card taking too much power :(
