I posted a while back re going for a 159 Q4, a ST220 and a 156 GTA also entered the mix

After garnering opinion and insight, i was around 90% sure i would go with the ST220 it just ticked a lot of boxes

My current car, which will be missed i think has now been sold

My problem is values, top, top ST's at dealers seem to be between 5 & 6 k

How much less would a private car be, as i seen a nice one on PH but it's up for nearly 8k, its low millage and looks a lovely example but it's a private sale and it's up for nearly 2k more than the best dealer cars.

I guess i need some advice on the values of say a mint car with

25k
50k
75k

I see what cars are up for, but having only started to look recently i guess i'm looking for some guidance on cars that look good value and ones that are overpriced

Are you referring to this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...---------------2004/2059579?isexperiment=true

?

Because that's about 1.5-2 times more than it's worth even with an MOT, let alone without one... Why wouldn't you put an MOT on a car like that. in order to make it stupidly attractive to buyers, unless there's something to hide? Just LOL.

I'd be looking for a '55 reg model at latest (because I don't think I could be arsed with the £475 VED of the 2006 and 2007 models) and aiming to spend 4-5k on an excellent condition one. Although if a lovely 06> one came around for a decent price I could be tempted.

In reality the prices are all over the place and you can spend £1500 on a sheddy prefacelift example if you really want to. A good condition 2004 car with the subframe bushes and handbrake cables recently sorted should be worth ~£3.5k.

The only one that springs to mind is the E46 330i/ci. And finding a good one is arguably more difficult than finding a good Mondeo, and it'll more than likely be costlier to run in the long term.

Yes that was the one, seems to have come down in price, it was 7995 last time i looked, so you think it's worth 5k ?

Thanks kinda gives me an idea were to aim for, most of the dealer cars though seem to be around 5 - 6 for the nice ones and some have 60k + on the clock, going on your advice these cars also look overpriced ?? or is that the price i should expect at a dealer ??
