Hi all,

First time post - I hope I can get some advice here!

I bought a pre-built system from OC.UK just over a month ago and on the whole have been very happy with it, apart from an issue that has happened on-off since I first got it (and certainly a lot more "on" recently). This is

I bought the below system, without Windows 10 installed:

OcUK Gaming Germanium Overclocked Gaming PC - Intel Core i7 8700K @ 4.9GHz

This is made up of:
Intel i7 8700K
ASUS Rog Strix Z370-E
Team Group Night Hawk RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - RGB Black (TF1D4
Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Turbo 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card
Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E500B/EU)
Samsung 960 EVO Polaris 250GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive

I installed Windows from a USB drive and then set the boot order from the drive, which is the only change I made to the Bios since I got the PC.

For the first week or so everything ran fine - great performance no issues, but then I started to get a lot of blue screen crashes, lockups or general failures. At first, I thought it was a hardware issue so I made sure everything was resat on the motherboard (thinking something may have become loose on transport). It would work after this but I think that was more incidental, rather than the cause.

Often on boot-up I will get this message:

After this message, I'll enter the Bios and quit without making any changes. The PC then boots up normally into Windows and runs absolutely fine (and when this happens I'm very happy with it!)

I shut down the PC properly, through windows without any hard shutdowns through holding the button off or at the mains.

There is obviously a stability issue somewhere, but I haven't changed the settings at all so I am a bit of a loss! There were issues at the OC warehouse when the PC was being built, I was sent the system a couple of days late as they were having stability issues, whether these are the same issues, I am unsure.

My question is - has anyone had similar issues with this system, or similar? And if so what settings would you recommend? Any advice debugging the error would be much appreciated!

This is my third pre-built from OC and the first time I've had issues, so I hope I can get it solved without having to return it.

Thanks for reading this rather long-winded post :)

When you get the blue screen error have you taken a note of the number string that comes up? This will be the best indication of what could be going wrong.
Also, have you tried any temperature monitoring programs for the CPU and GPU? Do the crashes and lock ups happen when the system is particularly under strain? It sounds like it could possibly be an unstable overclock, but without further information it's very hard to tell.

as your in the oc warranty period with it being one of there pre builts, i would let them guys sort it as end of day thats what they are there for when you purchase there systems.
you shouldnt be needing to mess around with it all, give them a call and speak with them

yes , its an expensive system, and you paid a premium for it to be built and overclocked to the specified speeds.
Send back and get them to sort it out. You haven't specified what power supply?
I would make sure to keep notes pf who you talk to, when, and what they say.
If it has to be sent back who pays the cost and insurance? how long will it take?
Keep Notes and keep your credit card company informed.
I am sure they will sort it out pronto tho ...:)
