Stability test for gfx cards?

Was wondering if there was a better stability test than 3dmark for testing OC's on my 8800GTS 640. Currently cranked it up to 630/875 and it runs through 5 loops of 3dmark without a hitch. Temps are hitting 56-57 under full load but no artifacting occuring that i can see.

Is there sure fire way to test its stable or is it just a case of keeping going until i see artifacts/bsod then throttling back?

Also what temps am i safe to use? Would have thought i was pretty close to the max i should be going for at 57C?

I use ATiTool to scan for artifacts on my 8800, seems to heat up the gpu more than any of my games do also

So just leave it running for a while and keep an eye on the temps?

How long do i need to run it for until i can be fairly certain its stable? Also what sort of temps are safe to go for? Not over 60C?

Meh, when i have the side on my case my temps go up to like 80c no problems, the cards have a thresh-hold of i THINK 115c (someone correct me if im wrong)

at that stage they will either shut down or drastically downclock... as ive never experienced it, im not entirely sure what it does, but i think its the latter.

Personally id start to feel uncomfortable at 85c+ on full load after like an hour or so... if temps start to bother you, you can download Rivatuner from www.guru3d.com and make your GPU fan spin at 100%...drops temps quite a lot.

I use 3D Mark looping, found that shows problems that ATI tool never discovers. Only problem is you have to actually sit and look for artefacts.
