That's a pentium D805 :D . Voltage 1.46v. P5w dh was the motherboard which provides you with an fsb up to 550mhz :eek: on 1305 bios.
I had some issues with the chipset temperature which at full load had a temperature of 52C according to pc probe and I have a akasa fan on. I decided to use the fan that comes with the lian li case which is also very quiet and it managed to help reduce the chipset temperature couple of celcius. I would suggest it for everyone to use the fan and blow some cold air to the chipset.

mines 4ghz prime stable a 1.4 volts... not sure as to why, i think we must have picked out some nice chips :D

Mines on a p4n32 sli se deluxe, had to max the chipset voltage to 1.6v though, not sure where i can read a temp for this..

Also, i think it's straining my hyper type r 580w, after an hour or so of priming, all the fans seem to wake up and go into overdrive...

Similar principle to running a car in, but different. And it's not a reliable science by any means - CPUs have (on occasion) been known to go further once they've been given a heavy workout right on their performance envelope. But I wouldn't count on it working for each CPU.


rkb442: Yes, your CPU is probably better for gaming than his. Whilst his CPU has a 36-stage pipeline, yours has a 16-stage effort. No prizes for guessing why shorter processing stages means faster (more efficient) operation. That's not to detract from the OP's effort, however. 4GHz is still going some!

I find difficult to believe than an opteron 2.8ghz can beat mine for gaming.

For what it worth my board has an fsb up to 550 unmodded :eek:

Not sure, was just trying a bunch of stuff, only thing that made the cpu stable was upping the chipset voltage. Ran benchmarks/stressers, seemed to be fine after that...
 
Very nice overclock. I remember the days when someone hit 5GHz with some liquid CO2 cooling. Soon everyone will be able to do that with a descent watercooling :)

According to pc probe my cpu idles at 30c-33c. My D5 pump is on level 3 and the fans of the radiator are on a fan controller and i have them on the lowest possible for silences sake. On load the temperature jumps up to 50C which ain't that bad. It get's lower at about 42-45c if i put my cooling system in full power.

P.S: Already thinking of going for the 4.5Ghz mark ;)

Well it's true. 805's arent that great at gaming. Got to remember even a Conroe at 2.6Ghz could probably beat your 805.
