hi, just bought a 5850 pcs+ which starts with 760/1050.

ive ran ati overdrive tool which took it to 865/1200 on the auto tune.
as soon as i ran heaven benchmark or a game it was crashing on me due to the unstable overclock.

ive managed to go to 825/1115 stable by testing it myself on games.

is there any reason why its crashing on the 865/1200 settings??

i never used manual fan control so should i maybe try setting this to a certain speed? and if so, what fan speed.

my case is very big and the card idel's at 40c on the 825/1115

many thanks for any help.

++ just want to add how happy i am with this card. was waiting forever for fermi as always bought nvidia. was going to get 2 5850's to crossfire but its played everything so far on max so ill save some more pennys++

The memory cant handle the 1200 speed. I have an Asus 5850 which runs at 925/1125. Th highest stable I can run the mem is 1140 but Ive had the core up as high as 980 but with the volts at 1.274 the vrm temp went over 100c and the amp draw went over 75 so I wasnt happy running at that so now it runs at 925/1125 with 1.187v.

I can set my mem to 1175 but as soon as I stress it it crashes.

Some people will say that the mem is good for upto 1250 but in my personal experience that is not the case.
