Stable Modem Router with Long Range WiFi?

Is there a stable modem router that syncs and holds onto a line well and that has good WiFi range? E.g. so I can surf from outside and anywhere in my house?

Apple Airport Extreme if you can stomach the cost and don't mind an extra modem.

I find mine's more stable than the AM200 that drives the connection, and that's saying something. As for the wireless, we run 5GHz here, gives brilliant range and speeds.
