Stable so far but warm

Well I managed to overclock the machine and it keeps running, I'm just a bit concerned about temps. While I am doing this temps in Real temp are hovering around an average 53. Prime runs okay but temps go up to about 80-85 at full load. System Specs as follows

I7 920 D0 Stepping 2.66ghz
GIGABYTE EX58-UD3R
CORSAIR 3X2GB DDR3 1333C9
ASUS TRITON 81 Cooler
GeForce 8800GTS 640mb

Changes in BIOS (V6)

BCLK 190
Ratio 20
QPI Link Speed x36 (6.84ghz)
System Memory Multiplier 6
Performance Enhance Standard
Intel Turbo Boost Disabled
Hyperthreading On
CIE Disabled
EIST Disabled
RAM Timings (Manual) 7-7-7-21
VCore 1.25
QPI/VTT 1.315
IOH Auto
DRAM Voltage 1.6

Most of what I do involves having 3dsMax open and Photoshop, as for games FSX (hence trying to get CPU to speed up)

I am now wondering whether it is the compound (ASUS own) and whether I should invest in some other?

For all I know it could be my settings any advice on this would be really appreciated as I have never done this before

Cheers

Paul

How long have you run prime for? If it's stable at 12 hours or so I'd be happy and leave it there.

Better thermal compound will be good for one degree, maybe two. What case is this in, and can you rearrange the case fans to get better airflow to the cpu cooler?

The problem is either airflow, or that you're using the Asus Triton instead of one of the better air coolers. Temperatures look about what I'd expect though, for some reason I still don't understand people consider anything up to 90 or so reasonable for i7s.

Ran Prime overnight so it seems okay. The Case is an AOpen and has a Fan at the Front and Back, it also has a glass side with ventilation in there too. Can't do a lot with the fans, but i gave noticed that the GPU is at about 60 all the time.

I thought the Triton was okay, I read a few reports and they all seemed positive, ah well live and learn :(. I have read somewhere that Hyperthreading isn't really needed and that can be turned off. There again, even when I am running FSX, 3DsMax and Photoshop CS3, temps don't go above 56 or so, perhaps I'm getting a bit paranoid :)
