I saw some pictures of a ocuk SETI stacked motherboard setup, but I can't find the link. What are the "pins" called that are used between the motherboards so I can goole them?

I'm looking for a low cost solution to stacking some motherboards/PSU/HDs, what do you guys use?

This was mentioned in the news about 5 editions back, Biffa or Berserker will point it out shortly.
Those types of farm seem to have fallen out of use due to the rise and rise of GPU computing.
The type of person that would have had that kind of setup is more likely these days to have multi gpu pc's, say 2, 3, 4 or more graphics cards.
One such setup would dwarf any output the stomp monster could ever do.
Running costs need to be realistically considered.

Well if you were particularly insane I suppose you could stack multi-GPU systems!

Though of course assuming your house doesn't spontaneously bust into flame due to the heat, the National Grid are gonna start wondering about the blackouts and where the downed pylons are! :p

Was before my time but I found a picture of stompy in this thread in case it jogs anyones memory. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18029183

It looks like they have put some 2mm metal/wooden rods through the spacer holes, and have kept the boards separate with square plastic tubing.

these days they look more like this I think (google atlas folder)

edit: but I guess this isn't exactly low cost....

edit edit: urgh... naked pc porn......

Impressive.

Though if they were proper folders they would have OC'd i7 930s chugging out Bigadv too. :D

Those don't look like Intel heatsinks apart from the bottom machine.

atlas folder uses amd chips in his rigs and only runs gpu clients IIRC, if you google atlas folder he's got his HFM stats uploading to his website.
