Hi all.

I've been asked to be my mates best man and I want to serve up a cracker of a stag do.

I've got the usual ideas down, good booze up, clubs etc but I'm wanting one or two activities to break the day up.

I fancy clay shooting or karting etc but I'm after other alternatives for me to try and source.

Any experiences would be great fully listened too.

Only snag is its gotta be in the north east

Fire away

Everything you have listed so far is generic. I'm sure it would be great fun but hardly a "cracker". A "cracker" is likely to be unique and involve something most people haven't done before.

How about the Rhyl clay pigeon and karting strippers club ?

It's just off the high street next to.......oh wait, north east you say

I enjoy rock climbing, so on mine - we all went indoor rock climbing. Everyone had a great time (we had two instructors to cover those in the group who'd not done it before)

We did archery and whisky tasting (not at the same time).

As well as the usuals.... Gentleman's club, Nighclub etc.

Have a good time

I reckon the best stag do's are where you leave enough space in the schedule for great **** to happen.

Too many plans and it's like a school trip.

Give room for your mate to pull a dwarf without noticing, or someone to split their trousers across the arse whilst on stage with a stripper and a man in a gorilla costume simulating bottom sex on them, or for a load of hookers in a strip club (actual hookers, distinct from the strippers) finding out you've got no pants under your mini-skirt and giggling like schoolgirls at your junk.

Or whatever.

Fun things I've recently done on stag dos have been Flight Club - social darts/pub place. All automated and different game types - Cluequest - room escape puzzle thing - and the usual club/pub stuff. I'd like to try axe throwing - basically darts with axes - and the Swingers golf place in town. It is worth fitting some fun activities in before things get real messy as you'll actually remember them :)

I've only been on one stag do and we went to a weekend music festival in Berlin. Stayed 15 guys to one hostel room (grim, but not as bad as it could have been :p), loved it. Much better than doing something that merely revolves around drinking, although there was plenty of that done as well. I'd imagine the more you strive for it to be wild and eventful, the less it will be.

For my stag. I was chucked in a van with bottles of strong bow gaffa tapped to my hand. And i had to consume the bottles before we arrived at our location. Which was laser clay pigeon shooting followed by zombie paintball. Lunch between involved consuming more drinks. Neither of my costume kept me well hidden. And closer to the wedding we all went down the local.

I was looking into butchery courses last night, the site mentioned hen do's (sausage making) so you could do a half day (insert animal of choice) course and arrange for the meat to picked up by someone else so you can carry on.

Unless one of the party is a vegetarian but you shouldn't let him spoil your fun ;)

One of the best stags I have been on was a long weekend on a barge/canal boat. We stopped off at a different town/city each day and let loose on the locals, to come back and allow the carnage to ensue on the boat.... Just be sure to moor up somewhere where you won't disturb others ;)

Clay shooting is good. Also consider a shooting range with rifles and MGs

Oh and don't forget obligatory dwarf handcuffed to stag

I think an event you've planned yourself complements an organised event, like clay shooting or karting, a treasure hunt, or photo challenge, combined with booze, obviously. So something like "take pictures on your phone of the...." a handful of those challenges, with prizes and penalties works well, and you split people into groups so they get to know the people they don't know. Things like that keep the cost down and don't rely on certain things being available in your area, but you can still combine it with other events that are more formal/organised.

The only good stag dos I've been on have ended by leaving Spearmint Rhinos (usually Birmingham) in the light, the next day. Skint, but strangely satisfied :D.
