Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'd noticed it on my screen (late 2013 15" MBP) for a few months now, tiny spots around the screen bezel. It just wouldn't clean off, and it looked like a bubble you might get putting a screen protector on a phone.

I never thought anything of it, especially as there weren't any of these spots over the actual display, but I'm getting more and more patches spreading all round the bezel now, and it seems other people's screens look even worse!

**** out of luck if you're out of AppleCare/warranty, what an expensive cost to replace something so mundane.

It's pretty poor from Apple to be honest. Clearly something to do with the adhesive or process used to manufacture the display to have no gap between the plastic and the actual display. Such a basic flaw.

Going to try and arrange an out of warranty repair for the wifes, looks like it's an inherent flaw so will push that angle.

Absolutely. There's no way it can be classed as wear/general use etc, which is the only angle they could use really not to honour a repair even out of warranty.

Are you sure this isn't just oil/grease that has oxidised/polymerised and interfering with the anti-reflective coating?
I have seen photos of this online and yet we have loads of these Retina MacBooks at work and while they do sometimes show these marks, they wipe off with propanol and/or Aristowax invisible windows glass cleaner spray.

I'll try some isopropyl alcohol, but pretty sure these look like they're beneath the surface.
