Stair LED's

Guys,

Having a new OAK staircase made and having all routes and groves made for the wiring for LED lights.

Now I have come accross this smart controller here:http://ariatronics.co.uk

Which allows for this:

Just wondering if anyone knows of anyone else who does this sort of thing? or has experience of it?

Looks nice but also a little over-engineered and likely expensive.

Consider something like PIR night lights for a cheaper and simpler alternative:

I have one in my ensuite for night-time piddles so I don't blind myself with the regular light and haven't had to change the batteries once yet in 18 months of use.

Well the controller comes to around 200quid with the sensors etc. so I didn't think to bad for a nice finish.

Do the lights activate only when you put your foot on the first step or when you get near it?

Only when you pass through the IF sensors. On top and bottom
