Hi ... I've tried everything , but the graphics stutter and every few minutes i get a pause of about 5 seconds...

.. Also VSync setting on this game does not work for me. Ive altered every setting even at 800 X 600 the game stutters!!

FRAPS gives me a constant FPS of 100 FPS+ with the game playing at 1920X1080, DirectX 11 and all settings on MAX .... yet the stuttering graphics are putting me off playing this .......

... me thinks it maybe a Windows 7 64Bit issue .....

Tell me about it, I mentioned this in the other post.

If it's not the head bob giving me motion sickness, it's the relentless jerking/stuttering when you turn left or right. A jerking that I get regardless of settings chosen.

I got as far as the first base before I had to turn it off. My OS is also windows 7 x64.

I was hoping a new gfx card will fix it but maybe its not that gfx if others are getting it too.

..well at least it's not just me ......

When crouching there's no animation ..... your standing up , press the crouch button the screen will flicker and you'll be crouching ... like stop-start animation .....

I'm pretty sure that was in the first game too. Totally unpolished turd in my opinion. Not played Pripyat though, I'll have to give it a go if it's cheap/free.

Don't get that here or any of these problems.

the first game was their first game and built on a pretty poor budget iirc.

The fact it's still well modded cult game despite having more bugs than a travel lodge shows the game play/level design was pure class.:D

Lovin' CoP but the stuttering is a bit annoying.

The only other game I can remember that suffered this problem was Oblivion. In that case I was able to solve the problem by defragging the HDD, so I tried doing the same with CoP. It might have helped a bit but it hasn't completely solved the problem :(

How much RAM does the game use?
I know some games will use most of the available RAM and was just wondering if Stalker could be one of them.
Perhaps it could do with more than 4GB?
I have 4GB and get a little stuttering, not too annoying tho'.

+1

If you took another game and threw in the bugs and quirks people just wouldn't stand for it but stalker, ahh now that's different.

Using a 4870X2 Q6600 @ 3.4 here and no real issues though I do get a very long 5 second freeze but only a handful of times throughout a very long gaming session. Possibly dual gpu, don't know. Think the game is optimised for ATI cards, though with this game that really isn't saying much, lol.

I get a little stutter, but always just assumed it was normal and down to the game loading stuff - as used to happen in the first Stalker when the little disk symbol appeared in the corner (which I guess they have since removed)
