Is this game worth getting? I found the first one too buggy and didnt run very well on my old computer.

Heard lots of conflicting reviews, is it flawed and buggy or do the latest patches fix the issues?

Does it look nice all maxed out and would I be able to do that on my build?

Thanks

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky thread on this very forum will answer most of your questions. In a nut shell, it's a buggy release that looks great but runs quite poorly on a lot of high-end systems. This is mostly due to the game itself being rushed, it would seem, as several game-breaking bugs have been reported already. The general consensus is wait until it has been patched to death then buy it :)

Ok THanks

Yeah probabaly needs a patch or 2. If you bought it now and patched to 1.5.04 not only would you run into game stopping scripting bugs at some point, but also we may possibly have to start all over again with patch 1.5.05 as we wont be able to use saves from .04 but this isnt confirmed yet.

That's the killer right there... having to start a new game after every patch... that would drive me insane! It's bad enough when I rebuild and forget to backup my saved games, let alone replaying the first hour of the game again and again... Save yourself the agro and wait. I'm sure, once patched, it will be a game worthy of our time :)

Quite annoying this - I had wanted to get it near release day but it appears I'll wait. The good thing about waiting as well is that it falls in price. :)

If you found the first one too buggy then I'd suggest playing it through now patched up with some of the excellent mods. Clear Sky is pretty much how you found the original, the bugs will spoil your enjoyment of what has the potential to be a great game unless your a diehard fan of the original with the capacity to forgive the bugs in order to explore the next generation.
