STALKER - Doesnt look as good as it should?

No wonder, high performance is the worst quality, and is only used for benching. :)
 
Actually your screenies look just as bad as my game on 7800GTX. Same badly rendered letters and HUD numbers, same bad texturing with overdone anisotropics. What do you run it on - Vista and Forceware 100.95 by any chance?

Shouldn't do on your GTS, ive got Supersampling on, High Quality Texture Filtering, Forced Mipmaps to Trilinear, Triple buff on and Forced v-sync in my Nvidia Control Panel, and everything maxed in Stalker, apart from the grass density which i knocked down 5, but not because of speed, just seemed like to much grass, they went overboard on the grass imo, and got the grass shadows off, not because of speed either, i turned them off because the shadows popped on just infornt of you, looked well weird, and it runs great for me on my GTS, mind you im only at 1280x1024. :)

Is anyone getting lots of grey triangles appearing around the ground when it rains? Guessing its a glitch, looks pretty unnatural. Took a few attempts at catching a screenie:

its a glitch with game mate. just save, reboot it and it will stop doing it. It happens usually if MSN Messenger disrupts the game and pops up with a new email/ alert or if you minimize the game during play.

This mainly happens when you change any graphical settings in the game and DO NOT restart the game before replaying.
 
Ahhh - yeah I'd been alt-tabbing to potch in Nvidia's CP, restarted it and all is well :)

Yeah i get that, only happens if i go to the main menu/options and back to the game, its Nvidia's wonderfull G80 drivers, back on my x1800 XT now.

Did you read the posts before yours? It's not a driver issue, it's caused by alt-tabbing or changing menu settings without restarting. Just save and restart after making any changes and all's well.
