STALKER.... give me a?

Any alternatives to the Complete 2009 mod? I started playing STALKER didn't get very far (turned in a few missions) and then put the mod on after it was released and tried again, I found it much harder than before and it was really dark at night (I know this is deliberate to enhance realism, but I found myself getting done over by enemies who didn't seem to have much trouble spotting me).
 
While i am waiting for them to patch Lost Alpha a bit more i was looking around for a mod to play and came across StalkerSoup, dam this thing is massive, its got 53 Zones now and with a texture pack weighs in at 20+ gig :eek:. Here's the link for it http://www.tecnobacon.com/home.html

It seems pretty stable with latest patch and its great to be running for cover when a blowout starts :p
 
Yeah, I will definitely go back to that one before too long. It's been a while since I've played it. It was too unstable back when I last tried it out.
