Stalker - Help please

I have been going round for days and it still has not come up to find the guide yet ???

I havn't gone to the brain scorcher yet but from when I played first time round the Guide should have come up by now.

Ive been to all the labs done most of the side quests except for the ones which would make duty or freedom enimies.

Killed 8000 dogs 22000 Bandits/mercs etc have half a million in whatever currency it is and still can't get the damn Guide to appear.

I don't want the damn false ending again so what the hell do i do to get the guide to show ?

Thats just the problem I have done all the quests and returned to the barkeep but the Guide quest has not come up! :confused:
 
Yes and been back to him twice since to check.

Have given the docs to the barkeep but still the guide did not pop up!
 
You've definitely checked your active quest page? You don't get the quest from talking to the barkeep, it just appears in your quest list without warning or announcement.

I'm only saying this because it sounds like you're expecting to see the quest in the barkeeps quest list.
 
No it has not appeared on my pda.

This is the second time I have played the game.

The first time round the Quest came up but I ignored it not knowing I had to do it and ended up with the false wishmaster ending as I could not get in the door as I did not get the decoder.

This time round I have done every quest nearly every side quest upto the Brain scorcher quest and it still has not appeared on my pda

Have been back and re traced my steps through all the quests in a vein attempt for the quest to appear but to no avail.

I have ammassed crap loads of money, killed 30,000 enimies and know the maps like my own town lol but still no damn guide quest :D

Its a pain keep going back too as stupid quests keep re appearing.

I have cleared the wildlands of dogs about 8 times lol but every time you go between the wildlands and yantar it pops back up.

There is more dead dogs than concrete ffs have collected over 8000 artifacts and most of them are dog tails lol

Think this has just bugged and the guide has done a runner :p
 
You don't have to keep doing quests just because it gives you them :) Like clearing the carpark or the train station in the garbage, those quests pop up forever. No point in doing them more than once really.

Sounds like it's just gone wrong sadly. There is a way to get through the secret door without the decoder apparently (getting the decoder is the end result of the meet the guide quests), I don't know it but someone mentioned it in another stalker thread here, should be able to find it with a search.
 
Don't suppose you still have a save from before you got to ghost's corpse the first time round? might be worth reloading if you have, doubt there would be another way to trigger it. The whole game is pretty buggy, I keep getting quest items and bodies falling through the floor, some quests don't finish, some pop up at random without me agreeing tto take them!
 
Ive got fed up of playing it now and deleted all my saves.

Will leave it for a while and go back to it one day lol
 
My Dad is just playing Stalker at the minute and the same thing has happened to him. Think it's because he looted Ghosts corpse before he actually got the mission to 'find out what happened to ghost' which you get when you go to Streloks stash the first time. So he went to the Agroprom research institute, went through the underground bit, got the documents in the base, but never went into the stash and got the flash drive that's in there.

So it happens when you do some quests in an order the game isn't expecting. Dumb that it can't cope with that though, but it's also partly his own fault for not paying more attention to his PDA and tasks and what was going on.
