I have started this a couple of weeks ago and am just going back to it but i don't want to patch it , will it be ok to play it through without a patch? i have read threr have been problems with it and so far it runs ok so i thought i would leave alone, what do you think.

No problems from me either Stalker seems to run just fine straight from the dvd without any patches:)

Patch it.

Or wait until the next patch which will have a save game converter so you can carry on as you were.

The AI in the unpatched game are a lot less enjoyable than when it is patched. For example, they don't seem to shoot through walls or see through them in the patched game. They also miss a bit more.

There are supposedly some problems with certain side quests (no item/cant finish), i dont know if thes were fixed in a patch though

Any particular reason why you don't want to patch? ;)

I havent patched as I haven't had any problems either. If you aren't having any problems then don't bother with the patch.

Not True..

The first patch was more game blance (Weapons Acc and so on) and trader revamp than Tech side.....

Playing through it unpatched at the moment, no major problems but I do sometimes get momentary lockups.

Looking forward to playing through it again patched though.
