Ok i decided to give this a go (bought it ages ago but just didnt have enough space on the HDD) uninstalled medieval2 and installed this.

Patched to 1.3 and jumped in for a quick run around: saw a few wild boar and i ran away cos i dont seem to have a weapon lol then i ran until i ran into some barbed wire hrmm; then i ran down the road to this outpost where all these guys started shooting me and i died.. I have to say wow the graphics are very impressive for this game. Im running it in 1440x900 high settings and dynamic lighting shadows around med-high. But it has a unique look to which is very distinctive :) Skys are very nice.
tbh - i was expecting serious fps problems but i dont notice anything - no crippling framerate or judder etc.

Are there any essential mods to get while the devs patch the game?
e.g. i heard smt about a trader mod? How about a mod which repairs armour and weapons?

Also im guessing its ` for bringing down the console? Anyone know the command for show fps?

edit: one annoying thing so far is that the lip synching is waaaayyy out of synch!!! You hear one guy say something then maybe a few seconds later his lips move hrmm..... lost in translation? :D

uhmm is there a no respawn mod in this? or anywhere?

Got first merc suit. got a artifact as well as other bits n bobs when i searched camp then went off to kill bandits with wolfs merry men. 4 times it took 1 shot hs kills i think lol. anyway i search their camp and picking up stuff from the dead soldiers when suddenly i hear what seems like a radio msg about "fall in, take initial positions" or something ???? jebus do the bandits respawn??? Heck i want to explore but that aint good if they constantly respawn.

also when i extracted the mod im left with a gamedata folder with other folders (config, meshes, textures etc) i put the folder just in the main stalker directory is that right? tricky to tell if its actually worked.
