STALKER mods

^^What is your spec Sycho? As I understand it Clear Sky favours ATI cards. Do you have the game patched? :)

i7 920, gtx275, 1600mhz corsair ddr3 ram, 500gb seagate hd, basically a Titan Goliath with a gtx275 in it.

Yeah think the lighting is DX10.1 when patched isn't it? which my card doesn't support since when i put it back to the Full Dynamic lighting my fps shoots up by like 40 or so.Got it patched i think since steam auto updates games i believe.

Ah, that must be it. I have a 260gtx and it runs Clear Sky no way as good compared to my ATI card, which I partly appreciate is to be expected as its a dual gpu one. Though also bear in mind regardless, it is a hell of a difference (the fps jump). As your fps increases when you drop back to full dynamic lighting that must explain it then.

Bit of a bump I know but it saves making a new thread. Just thought I'd mention atm I am running the Stalker 'Oblivion Lost' mod, version 2.2. I'm only at the beginning but it does seem very good indeed. I want say too much in case it spoils it for others but when I selected my skill, the options I had were (iirc) noob, skilled - which I took to be 'Stalker' equivalent, and then you have the progressively harder settings. I chose 'skilled' and my god, so far it seems a bit intense, and I've only just left the village where Wolf is.

Anyone else had any experiences with this mod. Enjoying it a lot so far, a bit stressful at times. :D

Edit : Actually maybe I should have set the next difficulty up, we'll see. Graphics are very nice with this mod. With my rig and all maxed and anything from x2 to x12 AA (forced in CCC) it is perfectly playable, x24 was almost a slide show however. Runs smooth.

OL is superb, not as pretty as the complete mod but better gameplay IMO. I combined OL with the Arsenal Mod, gives you loads of different weapons, its great searching the dead as you don't know what you're gonna get.

OBL itself includes lots of things that were in the original design but didn't get into the final release, there's extra mutants & you can drive vehicles.

^^I hope you enjoy it. :)

Not sure so far whether I like this more or the 'complete' mod, both are great, with differing plus points. I have managed to get into one or two vehicles but have found no way to start any engines.
