Stalker (original) problem

ok i got this from a certain competitor today and patched to v 0005, however half the screen is totally white and the other half looks normal but very flickery when i leave the initial room and go outside the half of the screen that was white turns yellow, anyone else had this problem? oh and for some reason it is the US version if that makes a difference

never heard of a game doing that....are you running in sli/crossfire ?

I had the same problem when forcing a higher AA and / or AF setting on my graphics card than the game could cope with. Try setting your filters to application controlled and try again.

Nope just running a single 8800GT card

tried turning graphics onto low settings and it doesnt make any difference , don't really want to mod the game until i have played it vanilla first

Are you forcing higher than "Application Controlled" in the 3d settings of your drivers (NVIDIA Control Panel)? That's what I meant was the problem for me, not the ingame settings.

Worth trying as it can be picked up for peanuts (or marmite) and IMO is a really great blend of RPG & FPS, you can pretty much set your own pace through the game, either tear through the main storyline or take on all the side missions, explore the different areas etc. Am really enjoying the Oblivion Lost mod which improves the experience no end.

i'm playing STALKER at the moment. i just got to the "Lab X18" last night, and stopped playing. something hiding in the shadows was growling. and telekinetically picking up and throwing things at me. like pelvises.

so i was too creeped out to play

Just a little hijack. Are there any sound mods for Shadow? To improve the sfx

Ok finally got it sorted for some reason the 3rd time i re-installed my graphics drivers it worked

I've played a lot of games but i just don't get this one! No matter what items I use, I seem to get re-infected with radiation and my health bar is always falling

Move away from the source of the rad, and use some anti-rads
