stalker problem, can anyone help?

just got the game, installed it with patches, started to play it but when talking to the guy you take the man to instead of it being the dark and dingy room all i can see is blue and when i look up i can see the sky?. the radar and stuff are there and i can hear the bloke and can see the text asking to talk to him, i can also accept the mission.

i then unistalled it the reinstalled it without the patches but the same thing happened, does anyone know whats going on.

my system is a amd 3700, 2gb ram, 8600gts, vista hp 32bit.

same thing here m8 mine is just grey the floor wer the grass is supposed to be think its summet to do with vista and 8800s mines core 2 duo , 8800gtx vista ?

could it be the drivers? i'm using the latest ones from the nvidia site.

Well known prob on Vista that, make sure the AA/AF is set to Application Controlled in the Nvidia control panel.
