As the title says, my brother recently bought stalker clear sky and is having trouble running it on his computer, when trying to start the game it asks to input the original game dvd but it's already in there. I believe this may have soemthing to do with windows 7, i have tried running in compatibility mode, tried re installing then updating but nothing seems to work. Does anybody know how to get this to work on windows 7?

Thanks in advance guys

tbh its probably a compatability issue just now, im having issues with Crysis and Windows 7 keeps resetting pc, im reluctant to believe its my hardware as other games appear to be fine

Why don't you try a no cd fix?

Hmm strange same build as im using, Please god dont be my hardware, it doesnt sound like it as runs assasins creed and stuff hunky dory

I found both build 7100 and 7232(?) x64 a little clunky when gaming on my system. I would get long pauses in COD4 and w@w before the game would begin. I have also stuffed myself by removing 7100 as PB no longer works. I might go back as the latest build offers nothing really. I was hoping my C905 was going to be seen by Device Stage, but no.

fallout was working hunky dory, and so does CS:S but meh it was only on so i could prove tomyself it was better than vista.

cheers for the replies guys, all other games work fine on the pc it's just stalker that refuses to work, I'll have another play with it tomorrow as I've got to iron out some other bugs on his pc anyway. As for the no cd fix how do I go about that?

Its a case of downloading the required file, Just put int Stalker no cd fix

I'd agree with the above about trying a NoCD patch. Also I used to get a similar message when playing Command & Conquer 3, Unfortunately a NoCD patch was the only thing that would resolve that particular issue, Although it is worth mentioning that with certain games if they detect any kind of CD copying software then they'll refuse to run. But then I'm sure there are ways around this for the people who are more savvy than myself. :)
