Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could help me here.

My STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl, seems to take FOREVER loading save games, and loading between zones.

I didn't have this problem on Windows 7 RTM, now on Pro (both 64-bit).

However, I didn't have my i7 when I played STALKER, so maybe this is the issue?

I know that Dirt and Grid both had problems with the 8 cores.

Anyone got any ideas please? Thanks ^^

have you tried a reinstall? it works fine for me and i've got a lower spec machine than you?

Reinstalled it today. And still experiencing the same issues.

It used to run fine before, on my E6850 and Windows 7 RTM.

I don't think its running slow because of my system mate. I think there might be a bug, maybe with my 8 cores on my i7 or something.

I know some games did have issues like this.

It seems to take 5 times as long to load as it used to. I sit for 5-7 mins waiting for it to load a saved gamed.

That just takes the **** sadly.

Works fine for me on i7 in Win 7 (only using the float32 mod), so have you patched it right up, also got Grid and Dirt working on my i7 to, trouble with them is, is that they see the 8 threads of the i7 as 8 cores, and they won't work on anymore than 4, so to get them working, just do this for both :-

Go to your Colin Mcrae DiRT/GRID install folder, i.e "c:\Program Files (x86\Colin Mcrae DiRT(GRID)\System, and in there you'll see files called workerMap2Core, workerMap4Core and workerMap8Core, just delete the workerMap8Core file, and then rename the workerMap4Core to workerMap8Core, then they'll both work fine. :)
