Hi guys, I'm getting sound issues in some levels in Stalker - the sound goes all echoey, and "blurry" in some levels, theres also a very loud, deep windy sound. When people talk it echoes, and I can't hear them properly, although gunshots seem to sound normal.

To be honest, I'm not actually sure if its just supposed to be like this, as it almost seems like it could be a "radiation effect" so far i've found it on the first lab map where you have to kill the poltergeist/fireball thing, and in the army warehouses map (with the big freedom base).

Is it supposed to be this way, or could it be a bug with EAX or so?

thanks!

Hi - I think the noise you're referring to is what you get when a controller is near.

Are you anywhere near the village in the Freedom base area by any chance?

it seems to be anywhere in that map, for example, during the setpiece where the duty group attacks the side of the camp, I can hear all the guys shouting, but all the yells are very muffled, distant, and echoey, kind of like i'm sitting in a windtunnel, listening to someone shouting through a pillow on an analogue and a digital radio at the same time (time lag :p )

Controller is the guy who gives the high-pitched tv-like whine, and pulls you close then punches you away right?

I have this Haggisman. Disable EAX and it goes away. :(
Wierd glitch, if I start a new game the sound is fine, but if I load a later save where the sound is crazy and walk back to the start the sound is still randomly echoey and muffled sometimes.
