Stalker Steam Problem

Hey all,

If I try to install Stalker from Steam I click install then it says " you are about to install Stalker Shadow Of Chernobyl" I click on next it starts to prepair the files for install then after a minute or so it comes up saying it's timed out?

No other game does this, any idea's?

Maybe server problems with Steam? Have you tried to install more than once?

Yea been trying for about a week now, during that time I've installed about 5 other games.

You running Steam as Admin? in some cases this can resolve such issues.

Just tried that and did not work, I was reading that the guys that made Stalker have been shut down, I was wondering if that has anything todo with with it not installing?

im having problems running stalker: shadow of chernobyl and have been for the past few days. it wont get past the steam message that tells me i've launched the game. i suspect your problem and mine are related

ive just signed out of steam, restarted it then signed back in and all is working fine.
i would have tried it earlier but i had so many other things i could play that i couldnt be bothered
