STALKER TV series coming

Only thing that's off about the trailer is that everyone's clothes and uniforms look like they've just come straight out the washing machine and ironed for them. It really throws off the entire concept and visual identity. They need to look rugged, grimy and worn out, like they've just gone through hell and back.

This tbh.

I enjoyed the story/lore/atmosphere of the games so much that I think it could be made into an epic film trilogy. This, however, looks like *****.

Looks awful, I certainly wont be watching. The games are awesome and a TV show based on the game could have been great, this looks like its been made for youtube.

was thinking about giving that film a watch actually, weird it actually came out before the chernobyl diaster.

because it's not about Chernobyl, it's from the book "a road side picnic" it's about aliens.

The writer decided that as advanced aliens flew across the galaxy we would be nothing more than ants and earth nothing more than a nice place to have a picnic on their journey.

you never see the aliens etc, and the zone + artefacts are simply the junk they left behind and the STALKERS the ants picking through the old wrappers, batteries and empty cups of coffee.

Dirty soiled clothes require massively more effort to be invested in continuity.

Cheap tv shows just don't have that kind of budget/time.

Close enough, although it's authors plural (Boris and Arkady Strugatsky), and the book title is usually translated into English as just "Roadside Picnic".
