Having a problem with Stalker. I re-installed it yesterday and played it and it worked fine, today it's now being detected as a Virus, how can I prevent this? AVG must have updated :( :

uninstall AVG. Problem sorted!!!

seriously though, that is a funny one - is there an exceptions list that you can use?

TYPE OBFUSTAT.AXR into google and see what ya get - actually forget that - it weilds no results

Nothing lol. I use AVG as it's just a virus checker thats simple and easy to use. I don't get viruses or spyware or what not, due to the fact I watch the websites I go onto and I don't really download at all. Don't use P2P either so this is rubbish.

I'll look for an exceptions list.
 
Did you dowload any patches which may be suspect ?

Not really, I downloaded two which were from the official site. I have them saved to my other harddrive. Patch 1.01 and 1.03.

I've just scanned the game patches .exe's and it says no threats found :confused:

Also can't seem to find an exception list.
 
according to google obvustat seems to be mostly found with systems using AVG
lots of refs to gamers with this

So if it isn't a virus then how the heck can I prevent it from doing that crap otherwise I can't play the game unless I shut AVG down each time....
 
Its listed as a false positive & only AVG finds it, look on the AVG forums for ways around it to make AVG ignore it etc
 
I've had pretty much the same thing happen installing supcom on my laptop. AVG detects the game exe file as a virus and removes it :mad:

Did you just remove AVG? or quit it before you start the game?

Just had it running as normal. Never had a problem with it detecting Supcom as a virus on my main pc or my server or my brothers pc. So why it comes up on my laptop I have no idea.
 
This is strange as it was working yesterday, AVG did a scan today and nothing but when I go to run it, it does this crap.
 
Yeah i got this yesterday as well, doesn't matter to me as once the scans finished it auto heals itself, but seen as its a false positive its probably healing nowt, and it only appeared when i scanned, doesn't pop up when i play the game etc...., never seen it come up since it auto healed in fact. :D

Even AVAST gives false positives, i tried it before, kept giving me guff about keyloggers lol.
