i got this error with the latest nvidia drivers i manually installed, when i uninstalled those and went back to the default microsoft corporation driver the game loaded fine

i got about 0.5 FPS with STALKER when i first ran it on Vista, after turning HDR off it runs as smooth as silk with all other settings maxed.

It works on my laptop with vista - however it runs like a dog, changing resolution dosent make much difference.

I had that exact same error with WinXP. I fixed it by installing it into a different directory to the one it tries to default to.

I have turned Dynamic ligthing off and so far, plays fine with no crashes!

I also have to turn off Dynamic lighting, but it runs fine when i do, in vista using x1900xt. Just wish it auto saved cause i keep dying so much heh.

I've jsut got this game working at last. Def some real probelms in vista x64...

1st. Turn AA settings in NV control panel to application and set it off in stalker. - Solves weird grey screen and no graphics problem.

2nd. Run as administrator every time

3rd. Had to modify this supreme commander3GB Patch even though i have only 2GB ram. - solved crashing every time i tried to save.

At last it seems a little more stable
