ok i bought this thinking it would be like doom 3, quake 4, hl2 etc, i really got my hopes up, went out and bought it on saturday got it home, installed it, played it and 30 mins into i was like.... why the hell did i buy this, its nothing like i expected it to be.

im not saying is crap, its more than likely far from it, but the big question is...what do i do in it?

it seems like a grand theft auto style game but a fps.

discuss.

I would suggest doing a few missions from the shopkeeper guy to start with, that and have a chat with the other STALKERS in the first camp.

I know where you're coming from though... this game does a banging job of keeping you in the dark, and the various books that came with the collectors edition don't tell you much either!

Keep at it.

I feel the same.I dont think its as great as it was hyped up to be. For some reason to me it doesnt feel quite finished, I have felt the same with other recent pc games, they just dont feel 100% done. So gona leave stalker for a little while until a patch comes out.

Strange, I'm loving it, there's a few things that annoy me, but nothing major, enjoying it a damn site more than I did HL2.

I nearly made a mess of my pants thanks to this game :(

Now it's joined the likes of Condemned and Undying in that I cannot play it with all the lights off with headphones on :(

It's a quality game. I'm only a few hours in but I'm really enjoying it so far. I agree with the people that are saying it feels unfinished. It's not very polished and there are some bugs but I think it can be forgiven for trying something new. Really good fun. :D

I agree its a great game stick with it. Some of the levels are very atmospheric. To rlly enjoy the game i would suggest you settle into it with the lights off and some headphones on, then you will rlly appreciate the games atmosphere. Try and put yourself in the game rather than just blasting away like you would in DM, you appreciate it much more that way.

Theres a lot of mission variation and plenty of weapons to play with, too many to carry so you need to pick your loadout to suit the mission. The later weapons are sooo much better you can actually hs ppl from more than 4 feet away.
