Just have a question about stalling, ive just got my first car after not having had a car for a month and a half or driven for a month and a half, i keep making daft mistakes biggest is stalling, im pretty sure its just a case of me getting used to the car ive stalled about 7 times since i got it on friday :o (idiot) just hoping i wont be doing any damage to the car in the long term while i get used to it within a few weeks i should be ok and fully used to the car, main problem is i accidently wack it into third instead of first etc etc, :o , cheers.

Give it a few more revs and feed the clutch out *gently*. Don't try to rush and you'll be fine :).

cheers for that advice but i did genuinely want to know wheather i could cause any lasting damage or if its fine and should just forget about it :p

You'll get used to it over time mate, just keep driving and it'll get better.

When I first got my Golf, I was the opposite, I kept giving it too many revs and releasing the clutch too quick which meant I wheelspan off almost all traffic lights and roundabouts lol.

yup done that a few times :p , the accelerator is so delicate in the focus :D .

Plus all that low-down torque makes it accelerate quickly and lots of wheelspin - had my focus for about 2 months now and i have never accidently wheel-span a car as much as this! And i've owned over 12 cars!

Starting to look like a tool at junctions particulary in the wet! Im starting to get used to it now but in the ice this morning i may as well have walked!

you not got traction control either :D, theres some serious power to the wheels i went bright red earlier when i spun it out a supermarket car park without even trying felt a right fool i must have spun it about 3 times since ive had it my rear tyres will be getting replaced before i know it

Dont worry about it matey, happened to us all at first!!

Go for a good long drive over the weekend and then do the same the day after, it will improve your confidence a lot.

You will loose the annoying mistakes soon enough ;)

:D cheers for the comments guys making me feel much better, thought i was just being a tool at first, looks like a nice long drive at the weekend will help things and a nice wash on xmas eve (car that is) :D
