Hello !!

I have my TV plugged into my HD5670 through HDMI as a 2nd monitor and it's all groovy.

Until the other day I updated to the latest catalyst drivers and then suddenly, the PC will not recognise the HDMI as having audio out if the TV wasn't already switched on when the PC was booted up.

And if the TV was on and I turn it off and on again, I will lose the HDMI audio signal. These are problems the old drivers didn't have.
I could turn the TV off and on as often as I liked and in the PC sound options, HDMI audio was always there and never greyed out.

So I did a rollback of the GFX card drivers and everything is fine again.

But I still want to upgrade the GFX card drivers.
So I'm basically wondering if there's any way of JUST updating the GFX part of the card and not using the full blown catalyst experience ?

Cheers

I did try that also.
Actually the only thing that was tick and untickable was the gfx part.
All the other options were greyed saying that I had the latest versions.
But the gfx part broke my hdmi audio again.

Is their any particular problems you were having thats making you update the drivers? If not I'd say your best just sticking to the older ones for the time being - \i had some difficulties with the drivers myself (his 5670) think they were the 12.3 ones, i've since installed the beta 12.5 ones and everything works, you could try them yourself or just keep the old drivers if your not experiencing any issues with them

Just checked, they were indeed 12.4's I was installing that caused the issues.

I'll give 12.5 a go.

My last drivers were 11.4, so I guess that if 12.5 doesn't do the job, i can look for some archived ones before 12.4 that'll still be better than 11.4.

Cheers :)

Just curious if you've had any problems with the new drivers yet? are the problems resolved.

I had high hopes for 12.5 as I actually had the option to not update the HDMI audio, but nope..... same problem :(

Let's give Orcvader's link a try.
